Maersk said the move is intended to reduce complexity for online sellers and improve access to its delivery network across the region. In North America, the company says it now handles more than 10 million e-commerce parcels a year, with operations spanning inventory management, fulfilment, transport and final-mile delivery.
Prashant Shah, Maersk’s head of e-commerce for North America, said the partnership was aimed at businesses looking for systems that can scale with demand, while Nick Osbern, Shipstore’s president, said the integration gives customers access to a trusted logistics provider without changing the way they already work.
The deal also underlines a wider shift in the logistics industry, where carriers are increasingly embedding their services inside third-party software rather than asking customers to manage shipping separately. For Maersk, the latest partnership adds to a broader strategy of investing in connected e-commerce platforms and digital logistics capabilities.
