Government Procurement Platform Department, accepted the honour on behalf of the Ministry.
According to the Ministry, the recognition reflects the progress made by its digital procurement programme, which now brings together more than 50 federal entities under a single AI-enabled system. The platform has cut procurement cycle times by 75 per cent and reduced the processing time for catalogue-listed items from more than 60 days to less than six minutes.
The Ministry said the system has generated savings of more than AED100 million, or $27.2 million, in its first year, while also helping to improve transparency, raise supplier satisfaction to 85 per cent and expand participation from small and medium-sized enterprises. SME involvement has risen from 22 per cent to 47 per cent, supported by national content standards used in procurement assessments.
Mariam Mohammed Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary of the Government Financial Management Sector, said the award reflects the maturity of the government financial management ecosystem and the institutional framework behind procurement operations. She said the Ministry’s progress has been driven by leadership backing, teamwork and a focus on public value.
The platform is part of a wider transformation agenda and combines e-sourcing, supplier management, sustainability assessments, procurement catalogues and live analytics in one digital environment. The Ministry says the system is helping federal bodies secure what they need more quickly while maintaining service delivery and improving performance across key sectors.
The award also adds to a run of recent recognition for the platform. The Ministry won three accolades at the Excellence in Procurement Awards MENA 2024, and later secured three more awards from CIPS in 2025. Earlier Ministry statements also said the catalogue had expanded to tens of thousands of products and services supplied by hundreds of vendors, underlining the scale of the programme’s rollout.
The Ministry said the digital procurement model supports the UAE’s broader efforts to cut bureaucracy, speed up services and align government operations with sustainability goals, including the UAE Vision 2031 and Net Zero 2050. It also said the system removes more than one million sheets of paper from annual use.
