OFS has entered into a strategic collaboration with Performance Solutions by Milliken in a move aimed at narrowing a familiar gap in manufacturing: the divide between data collection and day-to-day operational change.
The partnership will begin in Europe, with both groups signalling an intention to extend into the US later. Its pitch is straightforward: many factories now generate abundant performance data, but too often that information sits disconnected from the routines, lea...

dership habits and governance needed to turn insight into lasting gains.
OFS brings real-time machine monitoring, operator feedback and shop-floor visibility, while Performance Solutions by Milliken contributes an operational excellence model built around behavioural change, leadership support and continuous improvement. The combined offer is designed to give manufacturers not only a clearer view of what is happening on the line, but also a practical framework for acting on it.
According to Milliken, its Performance System has underpinned the company’s manufacturing approach for more than 25 years and remains central to its consulting work. The group says that approach is used across its own global network and has been applied at client sites in multiple countries, with a focus on safety, productivity, quality and efficiency.
Jonathan Newton, general manager for Europe at OFS, said manufacturers were not short of information but often lacked the confidence and structure to use it effectively. Darren O’Connor, business development director at Performance Solutions by Milliken, said the collaboration would strengthen operational excellence programmes by adding live insight to established improvement methods.
OFS says its platform is deployed at thousands of manufacturing sites in 35 countries and used by more than 30,000 people each day. Its customer base includes AB Foods, Aryzta Bakeries, Campari, Electrolux and Asahi.
The partnership is being positioned as flexible, with projects able to be led by either organisation or delivered jointly, depending on client needs. It also opens the door to shared roundtables, webinars and other thought leadership aimed at manufacturers looking to improve performance while reducing risk and improving return on investment.
Milliken’s consulting division says its wider approach is designed to secure lasting change by engaging associates, refining metrics and embedding practical methods across facilities. In its own materials, the company describes its model as practitioner-led and centred on total employee engagement, with the aim of building a culture of continuous improvement rather than one-off gains.
For manufacturers wrestling with the challenge of making digital investment pay off, the collaboration reflects a broader shift in the sector: the recognition that technology alone rarely changes performance unless it is matched by disciplined management, capable leadership and sustained behavioural change.
