The companies said the first phase centres on three functions: supplier insights, which lets procurement teams request intelligence drawn from FedEx data; supplier visibility, which uses that intelligence to assess vendors during onboarding; and post-onboarding insights, which continue monitoring suppliers after they are approved. FedEx said the goal is to reduce uncertainty across the supplier lifecycle and give teams earlier warning of disruption.
The move builds on a strategic partnership first outlined last October, when FedEx Dataworks and ServiceNow said they would pursue a multi-year programme involving joint innovation hubs, shared engineering resources and platform integrations. FedEx says its Dataworks business turns network information into commercial intelligence, while ServiceNow is positioning its AI tools as a way to help customers automate and streamline procurement decisions.
At FedEx’s 2026 Investor Day in February, Vishal Talwar, the company’s executive vice-president and chief digital and information officer, said the value lies not just in the scale of the data, but in turning it into predictive signals and coordination tools for customers. The latest integration suggests the logistics group and the software company are now moving that idea into practical procurement applications.
