Schneider Electric has been named a leader in IDC MarketScape’s latest worldwide assessment of carbon accounting and management applications, a recognition that reflects the growing importance of software platforms built to handle emissions data, reporting and compliance in one place.
According to Schneider Electric, the IDC MarketScape reviewed 17 global providers and singled out the company for the AI-native design of Resource Advisor+, its sustainability and energy int...

elligence platform developed by SE Advisory Services. The assessment highlighted the role of Schneider Electric’s AI agent, Sera, which is used to automate tasks including data extraction, data normalisation, emissions-factor mapping, disclosure drafting and processes aligned with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
The company said the platform was developed in-house, allowing tighter integration between its products and more consistent flow of data across enterprise systems. Schneider Electric argues that this structure helps clients connect insights with operational decisions rather than treating carbon accounting as a standalone reporting exercise.
Resource Advisor+ was launched earlier this year as a broader command centre for energy and sustainability management. Schneider Electric has described it as bringing together emissions tracking, energy data, supply-chain engagement, climate risk and sustainability reporting within a single environment. The platform is built around what the company calls a responsible AI approach, which it says is intended to support deployment that is proportionate to client needs.
SE Advisory Services, Schneider Electric’s consulting arm, is also positioned as a central part of the offer. The company says the platform is supported by more than 4,000 consultants worldwide and 17,000 specialists across its business units, combining software with advisory services to help customers move from sustainability targets to measurable progress.
Supply-chain decarbonisation is another key part of the proposition. Schneider Electric says the platform is designed to help suppliers collect data, benchmark performance and track progress through a maturity model that points them towards further action. The company also points to programmes such as Energize and Catalyze, which aim to help suppliers secure renewable electricity and cut emissions while advancing science-based targets.
The IDC recognition comes as companies face rising pressure to improve the quality of sustainability data and withstand closer scrutiny from regulators, investors and customers. For vendors in the sector, the challenge is no longer simply to measure carbon output, but to make reporting more reliable, more auditable and more closely tied to operational change.
