Riyadh Roastery adopts Rockwell’s Plex for digital transition and growth

Rockwell Automation says Riyadh Roastery has chosen its Plex Smart Manufacturing Platform to modernise production as the Saudi coffee company looks to expand output, tighten quality control and gain a clearer view of its factory operations.

Riyadh Roastery is described as the largest speciality coffee roaster in Saudi Arabia and a key supplier to leading café chains across the kingdom. As demand has increased and the company has added new lines and products, it has needed stronger traceability, better coordination across the plant and a more unified flow of data between systems. Rockwell says Plex’s manufacturing execution capabilities are designed to provide that structure, while linking operational technology with information technology in a way that supports longer-term automation goals.

The project was implemented with help from Gulf Net Solutions, a Saudi systems integrator and silver member of Rockwell’s partner network. The company built middleware to connect the Plex MES platform with Riyadh Roastery’s enterprise resource planning system, creating a single source of operational information. Rockwell described the deployment as one of the first Plex implementations led by a local partner in Saudi Arabia, underscoring the country’s growing domestic capability in smart manufacturing.

For Rockwell, the deal also fits a wider push in Saudi Arabia, where manufacturers across sectors are increasingly adopting digital tools under Vision 2030. The company has previously highlighted similar Plex deployments in the kingdom, including work with SAAK International, another Saudi manufacturer using the system to improve real-time visibility and production efficiency.

Rockwell says its Plex portfolio is built for scalability, with food and beverage manufacturers among the sectors it targets. In that industry, the company argues, real-time visibility, quality management and supply chain planning are especially important as producers balance batch-based operations with strict compliance and rising customer expectations.

For Riyadh Roastery, the appeal appears to be less about software alone than about building a manufacturing base that can keep pace with growth. In a sector where consistency, traceability and speed matter, the company says Plex will help it plan more effectively, maintain performance across production lines and launch new products with greater confidence.
