han a neat process improvement. Top10ERP’s case study says Moog originally adopted QAD Adaptive ERP in 2017 to replace a legacy system that was constraining growth and creating operational drag. By 2024, the company had upgraded again to simplify its environment, improve consistency across global sites and preserve the traceability and validation required in a tightly regulated sector.
QAD is using Moog’s experience, and a parallel example at Noble Biomaterials, to argue that medtech manufacturers no longer need software that merely stores information. Noble, a global supplier of antimicrobial products and medical device materials, had been struggling with a fragmented mix of spreadsheets, third-party tools and manual processes that undermined confidence in its data, according to ERP Today and Nucleus Research. After moving to QAD Adaptive ERP, the company brought forecasting, inventory and production onto one platform, with Nucleus saying the change improved forecasting productivity and allowed Noble to retire older software.
That theme matters because the sector is under pressure on several fronts. QAD says midmarket medtech groups are coping with inflation while also adjusting to the FDA’s Quality Management System Regulation changes, which broaden the records that may be reviewed. In that environment, the company argues, manufacturers need ERP systems that can do work, not simply archive it.
The answer QAD is promoting is ChampionAI, an agentic layer designed to sit on top of QAD Adaptive ERP and turn the platform into what it calls a system of action. The message is clear: the winners, in QAD’s view, will be those that use software to reduce repetitive labour, tighten visibility and act faster, rather than those that wait for AI to solve problems that are really structural.
