Direct4Pet and StoreFeeder have marked ten years of working together with an award that recognises a partnership which has helped turn a small online pet retailer into a sizeable digital pharmacy and fulfilment operation.

ology work behind the scenes, but the companies say its real effect has been felt by customers, through quicker dispatch, tighter stock control and fewer fulfilment errors.
StoreFeeder’s warehouse and order management systems have been central to that growth. The software is said to have helped Direct4Pet reach 99.95% order accuracy by using barcode validation and paperless Android PDA picking, reducing packing mistakes for products ranging from pet essentials to time-sensitive veterinary medicines. Automated courier routing has also been integrated with Royal Mail, DPD, Evri and Amazon Shipping, enabling faster dispatch decisions across the UK.
The partnership has also supported real-time inventory management across Direct4Pet’s own website and marketplaces including Amazon, eBay, Tesco and OnBuy, cutting the risk of customers ordering items that are not in stock. The automation has freed up the retailer’s veterinary and SQP medication teams to spend more time reviewing regulated orders.
Direct4Pet said the technology has been pivotal in scaling the business to more than 5,000 orders a day. Garry Howard, the company’s director, described StoreFeeder as the “digital backbone” of its operation and said the systems had allowed the business to serve customers “faster, more accurately, and more affordably than ever before”.
StoreFeeder’s Ian Dade said the two companies had built the relationship through openness to new processes and ideas, adding that the software was designed to help businesses scale sustainably. He said the partnership had taken Direct4Pet from an early-stage warehouse meeting to a major retail and third-party logistics hub, and expressed confidence about the next decade.
Pet industry coverage has framed the award as an example of how automation can reshape specialist retail, particularly where pharmacies and fulfilment services must balance growth with accuracy and regulatory oversight. Direct4Pet has said its wider logistics operation now also supports partner brands and manufacturers that connect their online stores directly to its warehouse systems for fulfilment.
