Deel has bought Sastrify, the SaaS procurement platform, in a move that broadens Deel IT from device management into software purchasing, renewal tracking and spending control.
The deal gives Deel a way to bring licence buying, contract oversight and renewal management into the same system that already handles hardware, security and support. r application portfolios and more complicated renewal cycles.
Sastrify’s tools are designed to show what software companies own, what employees actually use and where money is being wasted on underused licences. That matters at a time when many businesses still rely on spreadsheets and disconnected systems to manage contracts, which can leave finance, procurement and IT working from different records. As a result, automatic renewals and missed notice periods can quietly lock firms into another year of spending before anyone has reviewed whether the product is still needed.
According to Deel, software has become one of the fastest-growing costs for modern companies, with AI subscriptions adding another layer of pressure as businesses test new tools and try to measure their return. Bringing procurement data, usage intelligence and price benchmarks into one platform is intended to help customers decide earlier whether to cancel, renegotiate or renew.
The acquisition also extends Deel IT’s ambition beyond the traditional device lifecycle. What began as a product centred on equipment management is being recast as a broader IT operations platform spanning hardware and software across the employee journey. Deel says that should help firms spot duplicate subscriptions, identify low adoption and gain more control over total technology spend.
The Sastrify team will join Deel as part of the transaction. Deel also said the acquisition reflects its view that software spending can no longer be managed separately from the rest of IT, given the growing overlap between provisioning, support and renewals.
Michael Ginzo, senior director of product at Deel IT, said: “IT doesn’t stop at devices. Now, neither does Deel.”
