Cargolux has chosen Cathay Technologies to provide a digital Electronic Flight Folder, in a move that underlines how cargo airlines are increasingly replacing paper-based flight workflows with integrated software.

tended to support quicker decisions, improve efficiency and strengthen compliance in a fully paperless environment.
Claude Konsbrück, vice-president of flight operations at Cargolux, said the airline had wanted more than a modest upgrade to existing systems. He said Cathay Technologies offered a level of functionality and pilot-focused design that matched the carrier’s aim of modernising operations without compromising safety or regulatory standards.
The agreement was signed at Cargolux’s headquarters in Luxembourg, with James Toye, head of line operations at Cathay and chief product owner at Cathay Technologies, in attendance alongside Mr Konsbrück.
The deal fits into a broader digital push at Cargolux. The carrier put capacity onto cargo.one in 2024, added online booking to its own website in early 2022 and selected IBS Software’s iCargo system in 2021 as its next-generation cargo management platform.
Cathay Technologies, a subsidiary of Cathay Pacific Airways, has positioned the Electronic Flight Folder as its flagship product. The company says the tool is already used by more than 3,900 pilots across multiple airlines and is designed to improve safety, sustainability and operational performance. Its launch as a separate business last year reflected Cathay Group’s wider effort to commercialise digital products developed in-house for the aviation sector.
For Cargolux, the move marks another step towards a more connected flight operation as airlines face rising complexity and greater pressure to work faster with fewer manual processes.
