The magazine also pointed to the work being done under chief executive Dafydd Llewellyn, particularly HICX’s continued investment in AI-driven supplier data management. That focus is intended to help large manufacturers gain visibility further down the supply chain, including into tier-two and tier-three suppliers, where operational, compliance and geopolitical risks can often remain hidden.
The placement comes at a time when procurement teams are dealing with a more demanding operating environment. Supply chains are facing heightened geopolitical uncertainty, tighter regulation and disruption linked to climate events, making static supplier records increasingly inadequate. Procurement Magazine noted that modern supplier lifecycle management tools now need to cover the full supplier journey, from intake and onboarding through qualification, risk screening, performance monitoring and eventual offboarding.
AI is now central to that shift. The publication said digital tools are replacing manual onboarding processes with automated document checks, live compliance alerts and continuous risk monitoring, giving procurement teams information they can use as conditions change. Other platforms included in the same ranking were Aravo, Kodiak Hub and Zip, reflecting a broader field of vendors competing to modernise supplier management.
HICX’s latest recognition follows a series of product and market milestones this year. In June, Gartner named the company a Sample Vendor for Supplier Information Management in its Hype Cycle for Procurement and Sourcing Solutions, placing the category in what it called the “Entering the Plateau” stage, which suggests early mainstream adoption. Earlier, in April, HICX launched a Supplier Registration solution designed to close governance gaps in supplier data and reduce duplication, while also improving compliance and data quality.
Taken together, the developments show a procurement market moving decisively towards centralised supplier records, self-service onboarding and continuous monitoring. HICX is positioning itself squarely in that transition, with the company arguing that better supplier data is now fundamental to efficiency, risk control and regulatory readiness.
