ng artificial intelligence. At the centre of the effort is ONE Record, IATA’s data model for smoother exchange between airlines, forwarders, shippers and technology suppliers.
Freightos said the move reflects its view that fragmented systems remain a drag on efficiency in global logistics. The company, which runs a vendor-neutral freight booking platform, said better connectivity can cut integration friction and make supply chains more responsive.
Pablo Pinillos, Freightos’ chief executive and interim chief financial officer, said cooperation and shared standards are vital to improving links across the sector. He argued that live data exchange and compatible systems would help build a more agile and resilient freight network.
Jonathan Parkinson, IATA’s head of cargo digitalisation, welcomed Freightos and said progress in air cargo depends on collaboration across the whole industry, as well as wider adoption of standards such as ONE Record.
The charter was launched by IATA in 2024 and originally drew backing from cargo airlines and technology providers including Cathay Cargo, CHAMP Cargosystems, IAG Cargo, LATAM Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo. More recent signatories, such as Hactl, have also pointed to paperless operations, cybersecurity and AI governance as part of the same broader shift.
