A central theme is inventory control. MOTOR says inaccurate stock data can leave businesses carrying too much of the wrong product or too little of what is needed, both of which can slow repairs and raise costs. In that environment, better data is increasingly being positioned as an operational necessity rather than a nice-to-have.
The company points to a suite of tools intended to help address those pressures, including TruTech for OEM repair procedures and diagnostics, FleetCross for medium- and heavy-duty parts and service information, MOTOR Insights Navigator for aftermarket intelligence and Inventory Connect for live inventory links.
The broader market is moving in a similar direction. SupplyBridge says its AI-based platform is designed specifically for automotive procurement and supply chain work, with knowledge trained by former OEM specialists. ID8’s Resilience Hub, developed by Jabil and Cyferd, is focused on real-time risk monitoring and global visibility. Other providers, including TariffTrendz, Elm Analytics, Resilinc and Semantic Visions, are also promoting tools aimed at forecasting disruption, monitoring supplier health and mapping risk across multiple tiers.
Taken together, the message from the sector is clear: as supply chains become more exposed to disruption, automotive firms are leaning more heavily on data, automation and predictive insight to keep work moving and decisions timely.
