ciency, resilience and sustainability.
Under the agreement, CEVA and CMA CGM will provide support across finished vehicles, automotive parts and electric vehicle batteries. The work will cover domestic distribution, international transport and more complex multimodal movements, reflecting the increasingly intricate logistics requirements of automakers selling into multiple markets at once.
The companies said the collaboration is meant to complement Chery’s localisation strategy, which has become more important as the exporter expands beyond its home market. Chery is widely described as China’s largest passenger vehicle exporter, and the new arrangement suggests it wants a logistics platform able to handle both rapid growth and market-specific distribution needs.
Amélie Humphreys, general manager of CMA CGM China, said the deal would help Chery strengthen the resilience, efficiency and sustainability of its international operations. Eric Dessupoiu, vice-president of finished vehicle logistics at CEVA Logistics, said the partnership would allow CEVA to deploy its end-to-end automotive capabilities across vehicles, parts and batteries.
Chen Chunqing, executive vice-president of Chery International, said the combination of CMA CGM’s shipping network and CEVA’s logistics expertise would improve responsiveness in local markets and support more resilient international operations.
CMA CGM says its logistics business, together with CEVA, operates across a wide range of sectors and countries, giving the group a broad platform for automotive supply chains as manufacturers seek tighter control over cross-border flows.
