Gap Inc. is deepening its use of artificial intelligence in the supply chain through a partnership with Inspectorio aimed at improving product traceability, data collection and operational control, according to the companies and a press release issued on 9 April.

d copilots to turn primary data into more actionable signals, helping Gap identify trends in supplier performance, strengthen oversight of regulatory requirements and reduce the risk of product safety incidents.
The move reflects a broader push among major retailers to digitise more of the production chain, where fragmented supplier data can make it harder to spot defects, delays or compliance issues before they escalate. Inspectorio says its software is designed to automate corrective and preventive actions, speeding up workflows that traditionally rely on manual follow-up between brands, factories and logistics partners.
Nate Fleming, vice-president of product marketing at Inspectorio, told Supply Chain Dive that the platform digitises processes used across the chain, from the factory floor to executive decision-making. That emphasis on live operational data is increasingly central to how retailers are trying to manage sourcing risk and improve efficiency at scale.
Gap is not the only retailer to turn to the company. According to Supply Chain Dive, Dick’s Sporting Goods adopted Inspectorio tools in 2024 to improve supplier reliability and monitor production risks, while Mango began using its Lab Test Management product last year to standardise information and support sourcing decisions.
Other reports on the partnership say Inspectorio’s platform is being rolled out across Gap’s family of brands, including Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta, as the retailer seeks greater visibility and tighter collaboration with suppliers. The company claims the deployment will help set a new benchmark for how large retailers use AI to manage global sourcing networks.
