People familiar with the engagement said the discussions also touched on ways to improve supply-chain performance by bringing together rail, port, inland transport and value-added services more closely. That approach reflects a broader shift in logistics towards end-to-end cargo movement rather than isolated transport legs.
The latest meeting follows earlier strategic contacts between the two sides in Marseille in March, when CONCOR and CMA CGM reportedly discussed container movement, logistics efficiency and global integration. Those talks were said to include projects linked to Bhavnagar Port, the proposed Bharat Container Shipping Line and additional multi-modal logistics parks.
CONCOR has been trying to deepen cooperation with major international shipping and logistics groups as India pushes to improve freight efficiency and ease pressure on its transport networks. The company has described such partnerships as part of its effort to build a more resilient and future-ready logistics ecosystem.
For CMA CGM, the discussions come as the French group continues to expand beyond ocean shipping into wider logistics services. In May, the company said it was committed to acquiring Bolloré Group’s transport and logistics operations, a move it said would strengthen its presence in high-value logistics and move it closer to becoming a top-five global logistics player.
