r visibility on procurement plans and market requirements so they can better prepare, compete and grow.
Etihad Airways, e& UAE and ADNOC Group took part in the event, outlining their priorities and signalling areas where businesses may be able to collaborate on future projects. The Chamber said the forum was intended to go beyond networking, creating a practical channel for dialogue between large buyers and smaller firms seeking access to supply chains.
H.E. Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi, director general of Abu Dhabi Chamber, said the initiative was part of the organisation’s wider push to improve private-sector readiness. He said early access to information on the needs of major entities could help companies strengthen their competitiveness and expand their growth potential.
The Chamber said the programme is particularly aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, which often face the greatest hurdles in identifying and preparing for procurement opportunities. By improving visibility over future requirements, it hopes to help businesses plan more effectively and position themselves for forthcoming projects in key parts of the economy.
Procurement Connect also fits into a broader pattern of outward- and inward-facing business engagement by the Chamber. In recent months, it has launched Gateway to the World, an initiative designed to build 100 partnerships with chambers and business support offices globally, while also giving Abu Dhabi companies access to millions of international firms. It has also signed cooperation agreements in the United States and held a business connect event in London as part of its effort to widen commercial ties and attract investment.
Taken together, these initiatives reflect Abu Dhabi Chamber’s attempt to strengthen the emirate’s business ecosystem by linking local firms more closely with major buyers at home and partners abroad. The Chamber said the approach supports Abu Dhabi’s ambition to build a more competitive and sustainable economy driven by innovation, partnership and private-sector empowerment.
