SeedMatch Group has launched a supplier-neutral procurement platform aimed at commercial agriculture projects, positioning itself as a service that starts with the desired farming outcome rather than a catalogue of products. The company says the platform is intended to help buyers define their crop, climate, site conditions, production targets, budget and timetable before approaching independent suppliers.
The approach reflects the growing complexity of modern agricultural deve...

lopments, where a single project can combine greenhouse structures, climate control, irrigation, fertigation, seed selection, plant nutrition, monitoring systems, automation, energy infrastructure and post-harvest handling. In practice, decisions in one area can shape the requirements in another: greenhouse design, for example, is influenced by local weather and crop choice, while irrigation and fertiliser strategies depend on water quality, growing method and the level of automation involved.
SeedMatch Group says its role is to turn a buyer’s initial brief into a structured request for quotation, then identify suitable independent suppliers and project partners to respond to that specification. The company’s website says the platform also covers commercial greenhouse projects, greenhouse structures, climate systems, seeds, fertilisers, irrigation, fertigation, agricultural drones, crop-monitoring technologies, nurseries, propagation systems, controlled-environment agriculture and integrated farm developments.
According to SeedMatch Group, buyers can begin by outlining the planned crop or agricultural activity, the country and climate, the scale of the project, production targets, available utilities, budget and target completion date. A sourcing specialist then reviews the brief, structures it into a comparable RFQ and helps create a list of qualified providers. The company says this is designed to give buyers a like-for-like comparison, while reducing the risk of piecing together disconnected products that may not work well as part of a wider project.
SeedMatch Group also says it offers project calculators to help buyers estimate greenhouse size, project cost, water demand, irrigation requirements, energy use and possible returns before they prepare an RFQ. The company describes those figures as planning estimates only, not quotations, engineering designs or performance guarantees.
The platform is aimed at commercial growers, greenhouse operators, agricultural developers, farming groups, food producers, investors, governments, institutions and engineering or project-development firms. SeedMatch Group says it is not a seed producer, fertiliser manufacturer, equipment supplier, EPC contractor or agronomy consultancy, and that project-specific engineering and agronomic decisions remain the responsibility of qualified professionals appointed to each job.
On its website, the company says the model is free for buyers and that, where a project proceeds, it may earn a commercial fee from the selected supplier, manufacturer or project partner. It adds that suppliers cannot pay for inclusion, ranking or recommendation, and that commercial responsibility for quotations, equipment and delivery rests with the chosen independent provider.
SeedMatch Group also says the platform is intended for substantial commercial agriculture projects, generally those valued at USD 250,000 or more. It describes itself as a human-led sourcing service for greenhouse systems, irrigation, seeds, fertilisers and related agricultural technology, with all supplier contact handled through the company rather than through a public marketplace.
