International Motors appoints Sebastian Leger as new chief procurement officer to bolster global supply chain strategy

International Motors has named Sebastian Leger as senior vice president and chief procurement officer, bringing in an executive with more than two decades of experience in automotive sourcing and supply management.

Leger assumed the role on 1 April and now oversees the company’s global procurement function, reporting directly to president and chief executive Mathias Carlbaum. His remit includes procurement strategy, supplier relationships and coordination with TRATON Group, I...

Carlbaum said in a company statement that Leger’s background in procurement leadership, cost control, supplier quality and transformation would help reinforce International’s buying organisation as the business continues to sharpen its customer offering.

Leger joins from MAN Truck & Bus, where he had most recently served as senior vice president of strategy and procurement excellence. During more than 14 years at MAN, he held a series of senior purchasing posts spanning cabin, electronics, bus and product cost optimisation. He began his procurement career at Daimler, working in interior purchasing.

In a statement, Leger said he was honoured to join International and looked forward to working with colleagues and suppliers globally to build a high-performing procurement organisation.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Berufsakademie Stuttgart Horb in Germany.
