**UK**: Logistics UK unveils a tyre condition monitoring service in collaboration with Transense Technologies, aimed at improving operational efficiency for over 21,000 member businesses nationwide. The service integrates advanced data collection tools to streamline vehicle inspection processes and enhance compliance standards.
Logistics UK has announced the launch of a new tyre condition monitoring service for its members, following a strategic partnership with Transense Technologies Plc, specifically through its Translogik division. This initiative is part of Logistics UK’s commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and safety standards across its extensive membership, which comprises more than 21,000 businesses that conduct upwards of 50,000 vehicle inspections annually.
The newly introduced service will implement Translogik’s TLGX tyre inspection tools along with the Tiretask software, which has been tailored to fully integrate with Vision, Logistics UK’s compliance and certification software platform. This innovative system combines advanced data collection through mobile tablet devices, a unique Tiretask inspection application, and cloud-based data storage. The integration aims to significantly enhance data capture capabilities while streamlining operational processes. By reducing the administrative burden related to report writing and uploading, the system grants engineers more time to focus on critical inspection tasks.
The rollout of these new tools is set to take place nationwide, reaching a network of over 65 vehicle inspection experts. This development follows an extensive testing phase, during which Logistics UK engineers trialled the tyre inspection tools and provided invaluable feedback to fine-tune the solution according to their specific operational needs.
Chris Lipscomb, operations director at Logistics UK, remarked, “Translogik’s TLGX tools and Tiretask software will revolutionise our inspection process, offering enhanced efficiency and unparalleled data quality and insight for our members.” He elaborated on the importance of tyre management for fleet operations, stating that proper management can lead to improved fuel consumption and tyre longevity, as well as a reduction in roadside breakdowns and downtime. “Increased tyre longevity also reduces waste which is far better for the environment too,” he noted. Lipscomb also expressed confidence that this deployment would establish a new standard for value-add services in vehicle inspections, enabling measurable savings in fuel and maintenance costs through the insights generated by their Vision platform.
The partnership with Translogik builds upon Transense’s ongoing collaboration with Tiretask GmbH in Germany, whose fleet management software is integral to the TLGX solution, offering a customised inspection platform.
Ryan Maughan, managing director at Transense Technologies, highlighted that this agreement with Logistics UK underscores the effectiveness of their solutions in the fleet and logistics sectors. “The partnership highlights the growing importance of digital transformation in the logistics and fleet management industries for vehicle compliance and inspection services. We’re very proud to support Logistics UK in their mission to deliver industry-leading services to their members,” Maughan stated.
With this new service, Logistics UK aims to bolster its support for its members, enhancing the quality and compliance of vehicle inspections across the sector.
