Fortress Framing says invoice automation has helped it uncover repeated supplier overcharges, recover lost profit and cut the time its staff spend checking bills.

arriving each day made thorough manual checks effectively unworkable.
Like many firms in the construction sector, Fortress Framing deals with large material orders, shifting prices and dense product lists, which can make small discrepancies easy to miss. The business said it was often focused on more obvious problems, such as missing materials or shipping mistakes, while minor pricing errors slipped through.
It adopted InvoiceIQ after being introduced to the platform through partners at SubAssist. According to the company, the system automatically submits, reviews and reports on invoices, making the process much simpler for the team. Materials specialist and estimator Alex Erks said the company found between $500 and $1,000 in weekly overcharges during the first month alone.
The company said those billing mistakes became less frequent once they were identified and corrected. InvoiceIQ’s TW Woodward said some weeks later showed no pricing errors at all. Fortress Framing also said the software reduced administrative work and improved relations with suppliers by limiting billing disputes.
Alex said the biggest benefit was the time saved. “The nice thing is it takes virtually no time now,” he said. “We just forward the invoices over, and InvoiceIQ gives us the total back. It frees up time for us while catching money.”
InvoiceIQ describes itself as an AI-powered invoice automation platform that extracts and validates invoice data, flags overcharges and integrates with accounting systems such as QuickBooks. The company says its broader aim is to reduce manual processing, improve financial accuracy and help businesses recover lost revenue hidden in invoice errors.
