That matters because the company is pitching the update less as a chatbot novelty than as a way of removing the hand-off between specialist planning tools and conversational AI. Log-hub says teams can bring in cost files, demand files and other datasets, validate earlier analyses, generate charts, dashboards, maps and presentation material, and keep the same calculation engine underneath. In a separate August 19 LinkedIn article, Log-hub argued that the real friction in day-to-day planning was not whether people liked AI, but the need to keep moving data by hand once they stepped outside core analytics software. The same post said the workflow can sit alongside Claude for Excel, so data cleaning and model preparation happen in the same workbook before analysis is run. The broader release is also more substantial than the September press hand-out suggests. Arabian Reseller reported on 10 August, (arabianreseller.com) and Log-hub AG said in its own 13 August LinkedIn release note, (linkedin.com) that version 6.3 also introduced a new 3D Container Loading app, changes to Freight Matrix Plus, redesigned network-design dashboards, new Job Roles in the Admin Center and extra operational constraints inside Shipment Flow Optimizer and Supply Chain Designer. The company said Freight Matrix Plus can now assign freight zones automatically, including transit times where origins and destinations use different zoning logic, and can layer in rules for fuel surcharges, hazardous-goods fees and loyalty discounts. It also said the optimisation stack had been updated with the Hexaly solver to improve speed and handle larger datasets. (linkedin.com)
The internal story of the AI integration is also clearer from supporting sources than from the release itself. In a first-person LinkedIn post, Alexander Sigmund said the work had taken “the past few months” and gave “Big credit” to Sanja Drobnjak for leading it. He added that he had tested the feature by running a centre-of-gravity analysis directly from Claude and watching the results land automatically in the workspace, an example that gives a more concrete sense of how Log-hub expects the tool to be used in practice. Sigmund’s post, (linkedin.com) rather than the formal press release, is where that testing detail appears.
The container-loading app, meanwhile, shows why Log-hub bundled the AI story with a broader operations release. Pluton Logistics, New Products Watch and PRLog each said the software is aimed at a familiar warehouse problem: average inbound container utilisation of roughly 65%, leaving about a third of paid space unused. They reported that users feed in package dimensions and quantities, then apply constraints such as rotation rules, stacking limits, separation requirements, weight-on-top restrictions and total container capacity, with the system returning a loading plan and shipment manifest intended for direct use on the warehouse floor. PRLog quoted Jan Sigmund, Log-hub’s chief executive, saying: “What’s different here is that this app’s recommendations can be executed on the dock.” (plutonlogistics.com)
Those same reports add some useful commercial context. New Products Watch and PRLog said the 3D Container Loading app is available through Log-hub’s Freemium Plan and sits inside a portfolio of more than 40 Supply Chain Apps covering areas such as routing, inventory planning and network design. Pluton Logistics also described Log-hub as a Switzerland-based company founded in 2017 with offices in Germany, the US, India and Serbia, details that broadly match the locations listed on Log-hub’s own company page. Not every detail across the release package lines up cleanly. Log-hub AG’s 13 August LinkedIn post said the 3D loading app runs “more than ten packing algorithms” behind the scenes, while Pluton Logistics, PRLog and New Products Watch each described the tool as testing eight packing strategies. (linkedin.com) Pluton’s article also muddled the executive attribution around one quote, identifying the speaker as Alexander Sigmund while calling him Jan Sigmund, whereas Log-hub’s company page lists Jan Sigmund as chief executive and Alexander Sigmund as chief technology officer. Taken together, though, the August and September material points to a coherent product strategy. The company is not saying planners should replace their analytics stack with a chatbot. It is saying the conversation can happen inside Claude or ChatGPT while the underlying maths, audit trail and saved outputs remain inside Supply Chain Apps. That is a more pragmatic sell than the usual autonomous-AI rhetoric, and it fits with Log-hub’s wider attempt to make optimisation tools usable through Excel, APIs, a workspace layer and now generative-AI interfaces. The pattern of announcements across Log-hub’s own site suggests the firm has been rolling that message out in stages since early August. (log-hub.com)
